In the second one day international cricket match between Pakistan and Australia in Dubai, Pak spinner Saeed Ajmal has been reported for having a suspect bowling action. The umpires of the match reported the action of the Pak bowler to the ICC. While bowler himself has said in the cricket news that he was ‘very surprised’ his coach was reported as having said that never before was the young man reported, only now when he bowled exceptionally well that there is a problem seen with his action.

Review of the third ODI between Pakistan and Australia held in Abu Dhabi on Monday evening. Australia beat Pakistan by 27 runs in a low-scoring match to take the lead by 2-1 in the 5 ODI series. Michael Clarke was the man for Australia as he hit 66 runs and took 3 wickets to realize the victory for his team.

The American Premier League had been courting Pakistani players so far, and now it seems to have spread its net further afield to New Zealand. According to the latest cricket news reports on the APL, Sir Richard Hadlee has been roped into the APL as executive consultant. It is also reported that Kiwi players are being approached to participate in the T20 matches organised by the APL.

The press in the UK has taken the view that Andrew Flintoff ‘Chasing IPL riches’ could well have jeopardized his chances of playing the Ashes later this summer and that Flintoff, with his history of injuries, has not taken responsibility for his actions. Andrew Flintoff has sustained an injury playing for the IPL which resulted in his feeling some pain in his left knee. Scans at a Durban hospital detected a slight medial meniscal tear in the area which has now ruled him out of the IPL as well as the upcoming series against the West Indies.
