In the currently ongoing Australian tour of South Africa, the home side may have lost the series but there have been significant other reasons for cheer, not least the sight of South Africa’s first non – white opening pair of Ashwell Prince and Imraan Khan striding out to the crease. Though Apartheid is officially long gone from South Africa, some vestiges of it still stubbornly persist and an all inclusive and multi racial South African cricket team is a very encouraging sight.

Australia could not avoid the inevitable despite an enthralling show in the last session by Johnson and McDonald scalping their career best scores, to be at the receiving end with a loss in the third test for an innings and 20 runs on the fourth day. Johnson made his maiden test ton and McDonald, his first test half century. The brave effort but fell short in front of another great performer Harris, who also found his career best with 6 for 127. Score: Aus-207 & 422, SA: 651.

Putting up a total of 264 for 8, West Indies bowled England out for 243. Andrew Strauss provided England’s answer to Chanderpaul with a gritty 105, which went in vain. Chanderpaul was named player of the match.

Should it be called as introspection to set the things right, or should it be termed as the mud slinging adopted by those who matter in the Pakistan cricket. Let the reader be the judge. Peeved at the state of affairs in the Pakistan cricket, former skipper of Pakistan Zaheer Abbas, who is also known as 'Asian Bradman', has fired the first salvo. He has squarely blamed the Pakistan cricket board for making Pakistan a laughing stock before international fraternity. His peeve is on account of the fact that PCB has announced a squad for now cancelled tour of Bangladesh even before the hosts cleared the itinerary.
